"RIVER CITY JUNIORS DOMINATE JR. STATE CHAMPIONSHIP"
MUSKEGON, MI. -
Four youngsters from the River City Juniors Bass Club were amongst those named to the Michigan B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation Junior State Championship Team, Sunday, September 22nd, on Muskegon Lake, at the first-ever Michigan Junior State Championship.Allen Goendyke, of the River City Juniors, weighed in two smallmouth bass at 2.08 and 3.98 pounds to be crowned the new Junior State Champion, while Tripper Johnson, of the South Central Bass Casters, brought 1 fish to the weigh-in, hitting the scales at 1.84 pounds to finish runner-up.
The rest of the the Junior State Team were drawn at random, due to the lack of fish caught, and are as follows:
3rd-Nathaniel Reagan/River City Juniors
4th-Michelle Weinert/Novi Bass Kickers
5th-Matt Kopeika/Novi Bass Kickers
6th-Brad Charboneau/River City Juniors
Alternate-Timothy Harden/River City Juniors
Other fish species caught for prizes were: 25" Pike-2.68 lbs. by Casey Cook/Buick City Juniors; 25" Pike-2.94 lbs. by Nathaniel Reagan/River City Juniors; 28" Pike-4.12 lbs. and 25" Bowfin-6.7 lbs.
The Federation and Youth Director, Ron Guilfoil, Jr. would like to thank B.A.S.S.
